We’re so happy to announce a new addition to our large, extended family, a second son born to Leila and Favour. Little David Chibueze arrived early on the afternoon of Sunday 2nd July. Leila and Favour are so happy and little William is looking forward to them bringing his brother home. All are doing well.
Both Leila and Severine have been accepted into English study courses. This will further support them in working and building their lives in Australia. To help them in their studies, we will have extra volunteers coming in to assist with looking after their children.
Angel has now been cleared for surgery and she will meet with her surgeon in August to commence planning for this momentous next step in her young life. Stay tuned for further information as it comes to hand.
Ahmed’s recovery is going very well and he’s back in Canberra at the Australian Institute of Sport training in the pool. We all thank you for your wonderful messages of support through his recent illness. They meant a great deal to us and really helped Ahmed to pull through as well as he has.
This month I’m going to Albania for the wedding of Sally, a young woman I brought to Australia from Albania when she was only nine years old. Sally received the vital medical intervention that she needed and went on to study nursing and work at the Royal Children’s Hospital so that she could work with ill children herself and support them through their own journeys. Sally will be marrying the man of her dreams in Albania this month before they both return to Australia and I’m delighted that I’ll be able to share this momentous milestone with her and her family.
The cooler months are here, but our house feels very warm. It’s also school holiday time and the volunteers have many fun activities planned.
As always, I want to thank everyone who is supporting us. Each contribution, no matter how small, makes such a difference to our work. I can’t thank you enough.
In Peace and Service Always. Keep smiling,
Moira
