Who We've Helped

The Moira Kelly Creating Hope Foundation is working with a number of children and their families to support them through very challenging circumstances. Meet just a few of them here.

Angel

4-year-old Angel is undergoing treatment for a rare condition that will require her to stay in Australia for a long time before she is able to return home to Pakistan. Her mother, Sania is with her. Angel is attending a local kindergarten and Sania is doing vocational training.

Mimoza

18-year-old Mimoza is from Albania. Moira first brought Mimoza to Australia when she was just 4 years old. She has had ongoing surgeries and is in the care of specialists in Melbourne. She is enjoying year 12 with the support of a scholarship from Mercy College and the Moira Kelly Creating Hope Foundation.

Papa

12-year-old Papa is from Burma. She came to Moira from an orphanage run by the Sisters of the Mission and has been in Australia for 2 years for ongoing surgeries for her hearing and eyes, as well as plastic surgery. She has completed primary school and now has a scholarship for her secondary education.

Ahmed

Ahmed Kelly, originally from Iraq is now an Australian Citizen. He attends Latrobe University and is doing a degree in sports journalism with the aim of becoming a sports commentator. He has just made the Australian Paralympian Team for the second time and will be swimming for Australia in Rio. Ahmed is in charge of the ongoing maintenance in the family home and is on the advisory board of the Moira Kelly Creating Hope Foundation.

Emmanuel

Emmanuel Kelly, originally from Iraq is now an Australian Citizen. He is pursuing his dream as a singer actor and public speaker. He has been signed by a recording company for three years and will spend that time in America, but comes home regularly to his family.
