Moira Kelly Creating Hope Foundation
Happy new year to all! This last month has been full of celebration, sun and Christmas adventures. Just before Christmas we were blessed with a special visit from the team who are responsible for the beautiful (and famous!) Myer windows. They worked their magic on our home and decorated it festively inside and out. We couldn’t be more thankful and the children loved it.
The festivities didn’t end at home, with the children visiting the Christmas Spectacular at Caulfield Racecourse (where they played in the “snow”), the spectacular Christmas lights on The Boulevard in the Melbourne suburb of Ivanhoe, a Santa visit at Myer and Carols by Candlelight at the Myer Music bowl. On Christmas day itself, the children woke to find Santa there with special gifts – what an exciting start to a special day. A full home (including Emmanuel and Ahmed home for the occasion) celebrated lunch together along with our wonderful volunteers. Truly, a perfect day.
Of course, New Year’s Eve was another reason to celebrate. We all stayed in the Yarra Valley and had such a fun evening bringing in 2018. New year is a time where we can reflect on the amazing things which have happened in the last 12 months for our family and to plan and look forward to the year ahead. 2018 will be a momentous one, with Angel preparing for surgery and new children joining our family.
We have such gratitude for the immense support and love we receive. The CFMEU and the ETU recently hosted a luncheon to raise funds for our Foundation and we thank them so much for their generosity. There is also our team of hard-working and dedicated volunteers and their families; we couldn’t do it without you.
We look forward to sharing more news of our family in 2018!
In Peace and Service Always, Keep smiling,
Moira
