Our beautiful little Shahd has returned to her loving family in Gaza.

Shahd was with us for three years and in that time, she underwent numerous treatments and surgeries.  She still has many health challenges and a long journey ahead of her, but she was ready and very excited to be returning home to her family. Moira recently accompanied Shahd back to Gaza and Shahd is now living with her paternal grandparents (Shahd has no parents) in the warm embrace of her loving and supportive extended family and community.

So many of you have been following Shahd’s journey and her remarkable progress and you’ve expressed such love and care for this brave young girl.  We are planning for Shahd’s eventual return to Australia for further treatment, but right now she’s in the best place she can be.  We thank you so much for your support and we’ll keep you in touch with her progress.
