As many of you know, these days, as well as working with very ill children, I also work with displaced women. They come to our Foundation from all parts of the world, often at a point in their lives when they feel almost no hope and we work with them to turn their lives around so they can build positive futures for themselves and their families.

We have two such mums living with us now, as well as the mothers of three of the children we care for and I love celebrating Mother’s Day with them all. They all receive gifts to remind them they are special and we ensure they all have a great day.

The last month has been full of celebration and wonderful reconnections with friends from the past because we attended the wedding of Ervis and Kathleen. Ervis was the first child I brought to Australia from Albania for assistance, more than 20 years ago. He completed secondary school and university here and is now an Australian citizen. Ahmed was his best man and Emmanuel came from Los Angeles to MC. It was a milestone event for us all.

Thank you so much to Bernie of Canterbury Landscapes for the wonderful work you and your team did in transforming our garden. We are forever grateful!

A huge thank you goes to Dave Payne for his amazing effort riding his bike from Sydney to Melbourne to raise funds for our Foundation. He completed the ride three days ahead of schedule after battling some of Victoria’s wildest weather conditions and his supporters really got behind him and gave so generously. It was an incredible achievement and we are very grateful for your huge and selfless effort. We are only able to keep doing this work because of people like you.
